Contact the Foundation for Cohesive Communities to make a donation and receive a chariable receipt!
Your funds will go to participating youth for items needed to volunteer. Funds also provide these youth with the means to play sports and do activities of their choice.
We pair youth with businesses, in a volunteer role of the young person’s preference, for mentoring and skill development, and the hopes of future employment. A well-known program such as the, Registered Apprentice Program (RAP), doesn’t commence until high school years. We also encourage solopreneurship, by providing youth with training and equipment to work for themselves.
When youth are not volunteering, we provide youth with the means to participate in sports and activities of their choice.
Additionally, and somewhat uniquely, our collaboration is particularly proud of enhancing the outlook of youth on law enforcement agencies, and vice versa. We provide our community's uniformed members with food gift cards to give out to youth, to develop positive relationships between young persons and authority. We aim to show the youth of Stony Plain that their Town cares about them and hopefully there will be reciprocal action from the youth to care more about their community as well. This long-term collaboration takes continuous funding.
